An Emmissary from the Orange Satan Reporting Scabs

I read over the weekend that "Pro-Hillary Writers have gone 'on strike'".

Now, as someone whose father was a lifelong union member (Plumbers & Pipefitter Local 172), and even served several terms on the union's contract committee in addition to spending a career in the cold and heat building northwest Indiana.... as someone whose mother stood against a reactionary few that wanted to decertify and eliminate the represenation of her local chapter of the Indiana State Teachers Association at the height of Reagan union busting hysteria.... as someone that even worked through the local P&P union as a laborer -- I'm accutely aware of the power of unions.

I was able to go to college because my parents were employed under union contracts - and thus made 20-30% more than they would have working under non-union contracts.   When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, our union bargained health care kept my family from going broke.

A constant concern to any union household was the presence of scabs.  Scabs steal jobs, steal bargaining power, and trade the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands who came before, trade the security of those currently in the workforce, for a little selfish and short-term gain.

Don't misunderstand me - I support the freedom of anyone to say what they wish and say it where they wish.

However, given the importance of 'the strike' in the union toolbox -- it is important that scabs be reported and dealt with by the union representing the trade.  I certainly, of course, do not advocate violence against scabs (I'm accutely aware that the Pinkertons weren't the only ones that knew how to use their fists and clubs).   But - one could and should find themselves 'blackballed', as it were, when strikes ended and their union-suported colleagues went back to work.  It was always inevitable - as union shops historically provided the best trained, most diligent, and safest workforce.

This said, it is my sad duty to report that the DailyObama continues to be rife with scabs; scabs that have not heeded the call to strike and continue to write about the evils of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the excesses of Tony Rezko, the economic fascism of Austin Goolsbee, the cowardice of Obama's 'present' votes, the black pantherism of Obama's surrogates, the messianic strawman that is Obama support, and the general in-the-tankishness of everyone for Obama.

As someone that believes in unions - I want to do my part.

Where do I report those that are crossing the picket line?

Do you just need usernames?

Enquiring minds want to know.

exactly - thank you... (none / 0)

just because they are anti-Obama diaries, or pro-Clinton diaries, doesn't mean they were written by people who sided with the "strike".

More "logic" from the pro-Obama side.

I am sick of the disrespect shown to Sen.Clinton by many on Dailykos, and now, too often, here. You aren't winning hearts and minds.

Re: exactly - thank you... (none / 0)

You don't seem to understand how strikes work... or how they are successful.

But, but, but -

I cannot even click on those links for fear that I will be redirected to the Great Orange Satan.  I have vowed, on my copy of Mother Jones, never to click on the Orange until Kos accepts a fair contract.  Alas!

Nota Bene - On this day of the green, I wish to be clear that any references to orange imply nothing about our wonderful orange kinsmen and kinswomen in the north of the Emerald Isle.  In fact, green always looks better when accompanied by a touch of orange.

Grow up.  Seriously, your actions are an INSULT to union members everywhere, and I don't buy this diarists "union" credentials at all.  A real union man would see the indiocy of a non-union strike by un-paid visitors to a PRIVATE WEBSITE.  Those that got their heads bashed in by the Pinkertons and others fighting for those rights would be absolutely ashamed by the arrogance on display here.

I'll answer the way Zonk does on DailyKos (2.00 / 1)

In response to your inquiry regarding unions, I state the following direct response on the issue: Why did Barack Obama stay at a blame American first church for 20 years after learning it was a blame America 1st church? There. I have posted in accordance with Zonk's style on Daily Obama. I think I did a really good job of staying on topic, and I hope that answers your question regarding unions.

A blame America first church? (none / 0)

I mean, come on...

That's an absolutely ludicrous statement.

I love how a 30 second YouTube clip has suddenly spawned so many experts on a 8K+ congregation and a now-retired minister who has 30 years of sermons and speeches under his belt.

This is surreal.

Just for giggles - I checked Redstate, LGF, lucianne.com, freeper -- all the usual suspects.

There are more posts and comments about the evils of Jeremiah Wright --- based on a single YouTube clip -- here at mydd than there are on all those other sites combined.

How does that make you feel?

Man, did that fly over Zonk's head. (2.00 / 1)

The purpose of the post was not to call it a blame America first church.

It was to call you out, Zonk, for being a Daily Kos contributor who is only on MyDD to troll former Daily Kos members who left because they support Hillary Clinton.

Please go back to Daily Kos and stay there, for your own personal benefit.  If you really aren't a troll, there's nothing here for you.  Daily Kos is the place to be for those who dislike Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and anyone who supports them in any way.  This is simply not the place to be for that.

You are very loyal to Daily Kos.  That is admirable.  Perhaps you should go back there, and spend your time contributing to the discourse there, rather than here.  You will be far more appreciated there.

Re: Man, did that fly over Zonk's head. (none / 0)

Make me.

I don't want to miss my chance to taunt you when Obama wins the nomination, the GE, and then re-election.

I just hope you don't escape to back under the bridge from whence you came before them.

You admit you're only here to taunt, but claim I (none / 0)

But none of the diaries you posted were (none / 0)

pro Hillary diaries.  So if they can't talk about the good Hillary would bring, you can't be sure they aren't another one's supporter.

And too, a sad thing about striking from writing or going to that site, we can't post that we're not writing or going there.  So being you are, maybe you want to post a claimer that the Pro Hillary supporters are striking from the O(Orange-Obama)So Sad blog.  Thanks much.

Well... (none / 0)

The small bit of your comment that I understand (the second paragraph needs some clarification) --

That's sort of my point...  I don't care if you read the evidence here or at DK.

The fact is - the 'signal' (truly pro-HRC) to 'noise' (Obama hitjobs) ratio is laughably skewed towards the noise.

Hell... look at your own history.  Look at the diary list.  Look at the rec'ed diaries.

The "pro-Hillary" content is laughably miniscule.  The "anti-Obama" content is ruling the roost and has been for more than a month.
